In 2014, NTT Capital was a different company. Known then as National Truck and Trailer Leasing, the business was focused on providing equipment financing to logistics companies.
The shift toward real estate happened almost by accident. Anticipating future growth, the company purchased a 15,000-square-foot building in the Upstate, intended to serve as a potential home for its own operations.
As the company stepped into the role of property owner, the nature of the work changed. Over the next few years, the appeal of real estate—its stability and its role in the community—began to outweigh the world of equipment leasing.
By the end of 2019, the transition was complete. NTT Capital exited the leasing industry entirely, closing one chapter to focus exclusively on commercial real estate.
Today, our approach is as simple as it was in the beginning. We focus on the Spartanburg area, looking for the small warehouses, neighborhood shops, and professional offices that the bigger firms often overlook. We look for properties under $2 million that have good bones but may need a bit of work.
Our strategy is to buy these buildings, improve them, and keep them. We aren’t looking for a quick exit. We are looking to be part of the Spartanburg landscape for a long time to come.
